A new extraordinary challenge for the Lorraine disabled champion Théo Curin

Where will the Lorraine quadri-amputee swimmer Théo Curin stop? Last November, he crossed Lake Titicaca in relay with his acolytes Malia Metella and Matthieu Witvoet. A year later, he will participate in an aquatic marathon in Argentina, the Santa Fé-Coronda, a legendary race of 57 kilometers in open water, on November 13, 2022.

The first disabled swimmer to participate

A new extraordinary challenge for the swimmer, originally from Lunévillois, amputated of his four limbs after bacterial meningitis at the age of six. He will quite simply be the first disabled swimmer to take part in this event. A race still beyond what he could know so far: “Lake Titicaca was 110 kilometers in eleven days for three, there, it’s 57 kilometers alone in one day“.

Théo Curin who admits starting to “stress” to the idea of completing this course in a river in which there are crocodiles and piranhas. A sporting challenge but also a way to make disability visible : “Argentina is a country where the visibility of disability is underdeveloped and we want to change that by taking part in the most legendary race in the country“.
