The Church is again affected by a scandal linked to a case of pedophilia. Eleven bishops were implicated during a press conference for child abuse.
Tuesday, November 8, the day after the announcement where eleven bishops were implicated for child abuse, stupor reigns in the diocese concerned in Bordeaux (Gironde). From now on, believers who have their habits in the church of one of the respondents want to know the truth concerning the suspicions of sexual abuse. “I think it’s good to shed light and truth”explains one of them. A woman adds: “It’s quite traumatic for Christians and for everyone else.”
Among the suspected bishops is Monsignor Ricard, elderly 78 years old. The man has himself admitted having had an inappropriate attitude with a minor. He admitted the facts through a letter read by the President of the Conference of Bishops of France, Eric de Moulins Beaufort. “35 years ago when I was parish priest, I behaved in a reprehensible way with a 14-year-old girl”admitted Monsignor Ricard. Ten other men are suspected.
