A new album by Isabelle Boulay inspired by songs by Alain Bashung

Isabelle Boulay will launch a new album on March 17, entitled The horses of pleasure (Boulay sings Bashung)inspired by his encounter with the work of the Alsatian artist.

“I had been circling his work for years, I found it so demanding, from a literary and musical point of view. It’s as if I had watched his songs run like wild horses and thought I wanted to ride at least one, ”said Isabelle Boulay in a press release.

The singer has surrounded herself for this album with director Gus van Go, as well as French musicians (guitarist Eric Sauviat), Quebecers (drummer Pierre Fortin) and Americans (multi-instrumentalists Chris Soper and Jesse Singer).

The 11 songs will notably be part of the repertoire of his next tour in Quebec, From Americas and Francea bridge show between American folk-country and the great French song.

The first two shows of the tour are scheduled for Friday and Saturday in Quebec City, before resuming in April; she will be in Montreal next May. Dates are also planned elsewhere in Quebec in November and December.
