A national tribute was paid, Wednesday, May 22, to the two prison officers killed a week ago in Eure during the attack on a van by an armed commando. 300 people gathered.
A national tribute was held on Wednesday, May 22, at the old prison of Caen (Calvados) in honor of the two prison officers killed in the attack on a van, eight days earlier. As the two bodies passed, the silence and contemplation were palpable. Jean-Luc Burey, prison officer, prison guards union (SPS) came from Rennes (Ille-et-Vilaine) to show his support. United in the ordeal, colleagues comfort each other. The tribute is chaired by Gabriel Attal. The Prime Minister greets the families and emotion rises as the coffins enter. They are worn by the colleagues of Arnaud Garcia and Fabrice Moello, killed on May 14, during the violent attack on a van at the Incarville toll booth (Eure). Both agents were posthumously made knights of the Legion of Honor. The national tribute was considered essential by many French people. The murderous commando is still on the run.
