a National season in numbers

After five seasons, Stade Lavallois said goodbye to the National Championship. This 2021/2022 season has been that of all the successes under the orders of coach Olivier Frapolli.

France Bleu Mayenne offers you a quantified assessment of this historic season concluded by the title of French National Champion.

The scorers

Geoffray Durbant quickly established himself as the team’s goalscorer. The 30-year-old Guadeloupean ends the season with 19 league goals (5 at home and 14 away). He did much better than Thomas Robinet’s twelve goals last season and better than the last Tango serial scorer, Christian Bekamenga in 2014 (18 goals). Better also than the record goalscorer in the Tango jersey, Guilherme Mauricio (17 goals during his best season in 2002). However, the former Sedan remains behind Cyril Arbaud (22 goals in 2007).

This season, Durbant is ahead Kader N’Chobi (10 goals) and Julien Maggiotti (6 goals).

In all, eleven Laval players have scored at least one goal this season in National.

The smugglers

The midfield, Julien Maggiotti, is the team’s best passer. The Corsican entertained and delivered eleven assists in the league. In this game, the captain jimmy roye and the attacker Sebastien Da Silva distinguished themselves with six assists each.

The cardboards

Quite logically, it is a defender who has been the most warned this season. The very promising Bryan Goncalves received ten yellow cards and two red cards. Jimmy Roye, Geoffray Durbant, Jordan Adéoti and Yasser Baldé each picked up six yellow cards during the season.

away wins

One of the elements that has made Stade Lavallois successful this season is its away career. With ten away wins, the Tango broke the record of this beginning of the century (eight away victories during the season of the rise in Ligue 2 in 2009). The average was 3.5 away wins per season over the previous 21 seasons. When they moved up to the first division in 1976, Laval footballers had also won ten away victories.

The players

Regarding the players used this season by Olivier Frapolli, there have been 26 (23 before the last match in Orléans).

The player who has taken part in the most matches is Julien Maggiotti with 34 participations (29 T, 5R) in 34 days. Durbant and Da Silva follow (33 matches) then Roye, Sauvage and Adéoti (31 matches).

It is Geoffray Durbant who was most often holder (32 times) ahead of Roye and Sauvage (31).

In game time, he’s the captain jimmy roye who spent the most time on the pitch with 2743 minutes (out of 3060 possible). He is ahead of Alexis Sauvage (2674) and Geoffray Durbant (2671).

Finally, some were more substitute than holder. This is the case of Sebastien Da Silva (18 times returned during the match against 15 starts) and Ryan Ferhaoui (14 times substitutes, 11 times holder).

Crowd

With 4629 spectators on average at Francis-Le Basser, Stade Lavallois tops the attendances of the National Championship. Laval is ahead of Le Mans (4434) and Sedan (3585). (source transfermarkt.fr).

With this average, Stade Lavallois would have had the 12th attendance in Ligue 2 between Nancy and Grenoble.

This season, the biggest attendance at Le Basser reached 9271 spectators, during the 33rd day against the Red Star. This is not the largest attendance at National since there were 13,500 people at the Annecy sports park on the 34th day.
