A rave party, in the Réïm sector near Gaza, was the scene of summary executions and hostage-taking on Saturday October 7. There are already more than 200 victims, according to some media.
For Israeli youth, it is a place of celebration, to the sound of electronic music. For Hamas terrorists, the ideal target to cause maximum victims. In one video, the festival audience dances, unaware of the imminent attack. In the sky, small dots perhaps indicate the arrival of the attackers aboard their microlights. The crowd is seized with fear, then panic. It is then around 6:30 in the morning.
Dozens of families without news of a loved one
The festival was held a few kilometers from the border with the Gaza Strip, in the kibbutz of Reim, an area usually secured by the Israeli army. The toll is still uncertain, but in one photo, we can see around twenty lifeless bodies. Other participants of the festival are missing, kidnapped, like a young woman and her companion. At least dozens of families are without news of a loved one, including in France.
