A murderer, sentenced in 2012 to life imprisonment in Germany for a murder, escaped during a walk in the Gemersheim area, a few dozen kilometers from Alsace, reports France Bleu Alsace, relaying a German police alert.

This man escaped during a walk in the Gemersheim area, in Rhineland-Palatinate.

It was the German police themselves who alerted about the escape of this 43-year-old man. Alexandr Perepelenko was sentenced to life imprisonment for a murder in Karlsruhe in 2012.

Police say his electronic bracelet has been found. A helicopter and a dog brigade were deployed to try to find his trace. The man is 1m85 tall and was wearing blue jeans, a black t-shirt and red and gray sneakers at the time of his escape.
