A murder at the Château de Blois for a detective TV movie

In the spring, the France 3 teams settled down for a short week to shoot at the Château de Blois. A good way to put the city and this castle of Loir-et-Cher forward to attract the next tourists. The Château de Blois therefore hopes for spin-offs with the broadcast of this detective TV movie.

A scenario based on a real fact

During a historical re-enactment at the Château de Blois, the Duke of Guise, Arthur, aged 20, is accused of the murder of Henry III. A scenario based on a historical event that really happened in Blois but which we do not talk much about today explains Elisabeth Latrémolière, director and chief curator of the castle. “For a long time, it was one of the essentials of the Château de Blois. Many visitors came to see the scene of the assassination. Today is a period that is less taught in history.

Visitors didn’t think it was so beautiful

Many know the exteriors of the castle and the spiral staircase of François 1er. But there is much more to see continues Elisabeth Latrémolière. “Most visitors didn’t think it was so beautiful and so good on the inside. When there are scouts for film shoots, often the teams come for a day but they stay longer because they find all kinds of interesting settings.

This TV movie is therefore the opportunity to highlight the city of Blois and this unique building. “We have a lot of filming in Blois but often the filming of the apartments in the castle which are used on the screen are not indicated like those in Blois.

With “Murder in Blois”, the castle will be highlighted and could be viewed by more than three million eight hundred thousand viewers as was the case with “Murder in Orléans” on June 24, 2021. The TV movie “Meurtre à Blois” will be broadcast on Saturday January 1, 2022 at 9:05 pm on France 3 with Anne Charrier and Olivier Marchal.
