A multi-service grocery store has opened in the small town of Rouvroy-sur-Marne, in Haute-Marne. The 400 or so inhabitants of the town have already been conquered.

Audrey Scoditti no longer has time to breathe. New regulars flock to the multiservice “The concept”the only business in the village of Rouvroy-sur-Marne (Haute Marne) of which she is the owner. “I come regularly to drink my cappuccino, with whipped cream on it. It’s very good. (…) We are happy to see people, because people are isolated in the countryside”, confides a client. This shop has many facets: bar, delicatessen, bread store, but also hairdresser and beauty salon.

Inaugurated less than three weeks ago, the 150 m2 multi-service store is an original challenge. It already employs eight residents of the Rouvroy sector. Its approach is also local in the products. “The goal is to help each other. We are good in Haute-Marne, and we try to make everyone work”, says Audrey Scoditti. This initiative restores the attractiveness of the rural town, which has been without commerce for three years. “A village of 400 inhabitants, if we want to make it live, we need animation. What we want is for it to hold”says Max Michel, the mayor of Rouvroy-sur-Marne.
