A motorist dies in a collision with a heavy goods vehicle near Cabourg

The shock took place at 10 a.m. this Wednesday morning in the town of Cabourg on departmental 400A: an accident involving a car and a heavy goods vehicle carrying 28 tonnes of all-comers. The car ended up in a fence. As for the truck, it lay on its side, dumping part of its load on the road.

Incarcerated in the passenger compartment, the driver of the car was declared dead by the Caen SMUR doctor. The 38-year-old truck driver was not injured.

The truck was carrying 28 tons of asphalt, part of which spilled onto the road.

The D400A had to be closed for about 2 hours, the time to carry out the cleaning and lifting operations of the truck. This intervention mobilized four vehicles and 12 firefighters from the rescue centers of Périers en Auge, Dozulé and Touques.
