A motorcyclist dies in a collision in Saint-Charles-sur-Richelieu

A motorcyclist lost his life in a spectacular collision Thursday evening in Saint-Charles-sur-Richelieu, in Montérégie.

Police officers from the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) were called around 9:45 p.m. for an accident involving a car and a motorcycle, which occurred on Chemin des Patriotes.

According to initial information, the vehicle was backing up before hitting the racing car and its two occupants, a man and a woman, ejected from their machine.

The woman in her fifties was transported to a hospital where she succumbed to her injuries, while the motorcyclist remained in stable condition despite his serious injuries.

The two people in the vehicle were not injured but suffered a nervous shock, according to a spokeswoman for the SQ.

A reconstructionist came to the scene to try to establish the circumstances surrounding this fatal collision, while Route 133 was closed for a while, it was added.
