A Montreal extra for The Cure

After selling all the tickets for its June 16 show at the Bell Centre, The Cure announced on Wednesday that Montreal would be entitled to not one, but two performances of its next North American trip, Shows of a Lost World.

This is the first time that the English band has offered two dates of the same tour to the metropolis. Music lovers who have already registered as a “verified fan” will be able to access the sale of tickets for the June 17 concert from April 7, before it is open to the general public the following day.

On March 13, the leader of the group, Robert Smith, split an exit in capital letters on Twitter and castigated the inexplicable reservation rates imposed by Ticketmaster. The ticketing giant issued refunds of up to $10 within days. Thank you, Mr. Smith.

The Cure had immediately announced that the sale of its shows would not be subject, at its request, to dynamic pricing, a controversial practice contributing to inflating ticket prices. The group also demanded that measures be deployed to stem resale on secondary markets.
