A silent rally took place in front of Courbevoie town hall on Friday, June 21, in support of the young girl who was the victim of rape and anti-Semitic violence by three minors. The emotion was strong.

Despite the rain, several hundred people gathered in front of the town hall of Courbevoie (Hauts-de-Seine), Friday June 21. Among them, members of the community, but also residents of all faiths, moved after the rape of a 12-year-old girl on Saturday June 15, on the grounds that she had hidden her Jewish religion. “They broke this little one”a woman says.

The citizen gathering was requested by the mayor (LR) of the city, Jacques Kossowski. “This rape moved all of Courbevoie and well beyond our town. Because to the horror of the gesture was added the infamy of the word: anti-Semitism”, did he declare. The president of the Representative Council of Jewish Institutions of France (CRIF), Yonathan Arfi, also expressed his indignation. Other gatherings are planned throughout France. In Courbevoie, another demonstration will take place on Sunday, in front of the cultural center.
