A ministerial meeting will take place on Monday 30 May at 11 a.m. to “find out the malfunctions” who “enamelled the evening of the Champions League” Saturday at the Stade de France (Seine-Saint-Denis), announced the Ministry of Sport and the Ministry of the Interior, Sunday afternoon. The meeting will take place in particular in the presence of the Paris police chief and representatives of UEFA.

Saturday, the kick-off of the final of the prestigious Champions League, between Real Madrid and Liverpool (1-0), was delayed by more than thirty minutes due to access problems for supporters. The pre-match was marked by chaotic scenes around the stadium, with no serious injuries. “With the Minister of the Interior, we deplore the incidents that marred the evening of the Champions League on Saturday evening at the Stade de France and regret that some supporters with tickets were unable to attend the match”writes in a press release the new Minister of Sports and the Olympic and Paralympic Games, Amélie Oudéa-Castéra.

“The priority now is to identify very precisely the dysfunctions with UEFA, the French Football Federation, the Stade de France, the Paris police headquarters, the Seine-Saint-Denis prefecture and the town hall of Saint-Denis in order to to learn all the lessons to prevent such incidents from happening again for our future major international sporting events”continues the press release.
