Niagara Falls, these waterfalls shared by Canada and the United States, are preparing for a unique spectacle: the solar eclipse on April 8.

A spectacular place. The falls of Niagarathe natural border between the United States and Canada will welcome hundreds of thousands of visitors on Monday April 8 to witness a solar eclipse. “I hope to be transported. I have been told that it is incredible, but I remain skeptical so I am going to see it and I want to feel it,” assures a tourist. “I cried the last time. The temperature was dropping, the insects were starting to make noise like it was night. It was magical”, explains a passerby. In the United States, the last total solar eclipse was in 2017. This time, it will be visible over a 280 kilometer wide band.

A rare phenomenon

To see the phenomenon, you will always need to be equipped with protective glasses. The falls of Niagara could offer a unique spectacle. “Every day we have a rainbow over the falls. Experts say that the refraction of light will create an entirely red rainbow”, explains the president of the region’s tourism union. The next eclipse at the Falls of Niagara is planned for the year 2144.
