“A very nice recognition”

“We are downright happy to have been able to achieve this title of world champion”reacts Laura Jaguelin when asked about France Bleu Mayenne, “it’s a very nice recognition of all the work we put in all year round because it’s energy-intensive, it’s time-consuming, it even requires financial investments from us and to be able to achieve this title is the most beautiful recognitions”. Today an educational assistant in a high school in Caussade, near Montauban, has still shivers thinking back to the podium, “hearing the Marseillaise is beautiful, we all had tears in our eyes and it’s a lot of pride to have been able to represent France on a deadline like that”.

She does not forget her native Mayenne and her Stade Lavallois club, which saw her grow up, “for this club where I started, for Mayenne, for my roots, it’s true that being able to show that we have athletes and to show that in the department we have young people who are invested and who win, that pleases”.

This fine team is therefore world military champion by parachuting team in landing precision and in the combined of Nations.

Champions in landing accuracy, aerobatics and relative flight

Laura Jaguelin and her teammates therefore finished in first place in the Combined Nations, made up of three events: precision landing, aerobatics and relative flight. The first discipline is that of the Mayennaise and takes place at an altitude of 1,500 meters where the goal is to land in a target while being as precise as possible, the second consists in making imposed figures starting at 2,500 meters above sea level and the last is to do flat figures in a vacuum in a very precise order starting from 4,000 meters above sea level.

The next deadlines will soon arrive for the Mayennaise: two World Cups, at the end of August in Thalgau, in Austria and at the end of September in Locarno in Switzerland.
