“Glory to Ukraine! “Hold the flag high, so we can see it all the way to Ukraine. These are some of the slogans that echoed at the march organized by the Quebec Provincial Council of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress.

At 24and day of the Russian offensive, the sadness was palpable in the crowd, where several protesters held umbrellas in the colors of Ukraine.

Gathered at the corner of Peel Street and René-Lévesque Boulevard, the demonstrators marched west at 2:30 p.m.

Before leaving, Michael Shwec, president of the Quebec Provincial Council of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress, sounded bomb warning sirens, in support of “Ukrainians who have been hearing this for a month”. In the crowd, faces were serious and several demonstrators had watery eyes.
