A man was arrested, suspected of being the author of the anti-Semitic attack that occurred on Friday March 1 in Paris, franceinfo learned on Wednesday March 6 from a police source, confirming information from RTL.

On Friday, a man wearing a kippah and leaving a synagogue was attacked in the 20th arrondissement of Paris. He had been punched and kicked by an individual and treated as a “dirty Jew”. The suspect then fled on foot and has been wanted since.

Invited on BFM TV this Wednesday, the victim’s lawyer, Corinne Serfati, reacted to this question: “I am relieved and I am delighted with the speed of this arrest […] My client is relieved because since Friday he has been in a feeling of absolute anguish and a feeling of astonishment and worry […] It is a great satisfaction that the arrest was able to be carried out in such a short time.”
