A man wanted for not having returned to the Philippe-Pinel Institute

A man said to be capable of serious violence towards others if he is under the influence of substances is wanted by the police after he neglected to return from an outing he had been authorized to do in Montreal .


The Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) specifies that Oumar Sylla, a 31-year-old man, is in escape from legal custody of the National Institute of Forensic Psychiatry Philippe-Pinel (INPLPP). He did not return after an authorized outing for the day outside the institute last Tuesday.

Oumar Sylla is a black-skinned French-speaking man who is about 1.70 meters tall and weighs nearly 81 kilograms. When last seen, he was wearing black pants, a black short-sleeved shirt, and black shoes.

The SPVM is asking for the public’s help in locating this man. Anyone with information about him can contact the 911 emergency call center.
