A man living in Fontenelles (Doubs) is suspected of having made several million euros in profits by reselling housing in Haut-Doubs, without declaring these capital gains to the tax services, reports France Bleu Besançon on Friday May 20. Recipient of the RSA, he was trapped by his lifestyle.
He was arrested by the gendarmes last Tuesday who were alerted by a report. This man poured out on social networks with designer clothes, jewelry and luxury cars. An investigation was then opened.
According to information from France Bleu, since 2020, this man has created two real estate companies to buy housing in Haut-Doubs, where prices are high due to the proximity to Switzerland. After renovation, he sold his homes with a significant gain. Only, there was no tax declaration of these capital gains, and no balance sheet of his companies. The open investigation resulted in the arrest of the suspect and an impressive seizure.
The gendarmes seized a new Lamborghini worth 265,000 euros and a Mercedes C65 worth 50,000 euros, as well as papers for an order for a Ferrari. They also found designer watches, jewelry and clothing for a total value of 50,000 euros.
The investigation is continuing, adds France Bleu, to determine the number of real estate sales, the conditions of renovation of housing, the conditions of transactions and also to assess the extent of the damage. Heard in police custody, the suspect directly disputes the facts. His companion was also interviewed by the investigators.
