A 22-year-old man, suspected of belonging to the ultra-right movement, was indicted for “terrorist criminal association with a view to preparing one or more crimes against people”, and “for acquisition, possession and transfer of category A, B and C weapons, in relation to a terrorist enterprise”, France Télévisions learned from the National Anti-Terrorism Prosecutor’s Office (Pnat), Saturday March 9. The man, living in the Meuse, was placed in pre-trial detention.

“His indictment is based in particular on the evidence of his participation in discussions on a social network, while the person concerned was fully committed to the ideology of the violent ultra-right”specifies a source close to the matter, adding that he had mentioned “during discussions of combat training and plans for violent action linked to ultra-right ideology”.

Two other suspects were arrested at the same time as him, as part of a judicial investigation opened in September 2023 for acts of ultra-right terrorism, the same source said. Their police custody was lifted, without legal action, declares the Pnat.
