A man suspected of armed assault arrested by the SPVM

(Montreal) The Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) has arrested a suspect linked to armed attacks that occurred last week.


Dushaun Thompson, 29, was apprehended Saturday around 4 p.m. in the borough of Ville-Marie, the SPVM announced on Tuesday.

A federal arrest warrant had been issued against him the day before.

Among the charges against him is the attack on a man in his forties on February 20 in the borough of Ville-Marie, in Montreal. The victim was injured and the suspect fled.

The SPVM clarified that Thompson would also be linked to armed stabbings and robberies committed on February 20 and 21 in the boroughs of Ville-Marie and Mercier-Hochelaga-Maisonneuve.

He is expected to appear in the coming days at the Montreal courthouse.
