A 38-year-old man was taken into custody on Friday, January 7, after going to the gendarmerie in Fréjus (Var), with a severed head and a penis in his hand, the Draguignan prosecutor’s office announced in a press release. The man explained that he had committed intentional homicide on Thursday in the town.
This individual gave the police the identity of the victim. The Toulon judicial police, seized of this case by the Draguignan prosecutor’s office, immediately went to the place of the murder indicated by the 38-year-old man. A forensic pathologist was also on site.
The accused must be the subject of a psychiatric expertise. “At this stage of the investigation, the motive for this crime is still uncertain”, explains the prosecution, which specifies that it will give the result of the first investigations late Saturday morning.
