A man was stabbed to death in an asylum seeker home in Montigny-lès-Metz (Moselle), franceinfo learned on Sunday February 11 from a source close to the matter. Information confirmed by the Metz public prosecutor’s office which indicates that the 38-year-old man, of Pakistani nationality, was beaten with a sharp weapon around 5 a.m.

Emergency services were called to this home shortly after 5 a.m. Once on site, the firefighters and police officers could only note the death of this man. From a source close to the case, at the same time, soldiers who were near the home, in the Collin district of Montigny-lès-Metz, reported to the police the presence of a man who spoke in English and said he was in danger of death. He was arrested, the Metz public prosecutor’s office indicates that his identification is in progress.

According to the first elements of the investigation, from a source close to the case, the victim and the suspect shared the same room, the possibility of a conflict between these two men is being studied. The city police station is responsible for the investigation.
