A man was shot and killed while walking with a friend on Wednesday evening in the Ahuntsic-Cartierville neighborhood in Montreal.
“According to initial information, the victim was walking with his friend on avenue Marcelin-Wilson. Suddenly, a suspect reportedly fired at the victim from a parked vehicle. Subsequently, the suspect would have fled on Boulevard Henri-Bourassa, ”said agent Caroline Chèvrefils, spokesperson for the Police Department of the City of Montreal.
The event happened around 8:10 p.m., she said.
The victim, a 42-year-old man, sustained injuries in his lower body. The man was taken to a hospital, but there was no fear for his life.
An investigation has been opened to try to shed light on this attempted murder and to try to establish the circumstances.
