A man was shot dead on Friday, October 22 at the end of the afternoon by police in Colombes (Haut-de-Seine), after threatening them with a knife during a road check, franceinfo learned from a police source. He then died of his injuries. The police were not injured during this intervention.
During this road check, around 6:20 pm, the assailant threatened the police with a knife, shouting “Allah Akbar”. The police then opened fire. There are no casualties on the side of the police. The man died at 7:30 p.m., said the Nanterre prosecutor’s office in a press release. This individual was unknown to the Intelligence Directorate of the Paris Police Prefecture (DRPP), a police source told franceinfo. On the other hand, he was known for common law acts. An investigation was opened and entrusted to the Hauts-de-Seine judicial police. Another investigation was also opened with the General Inspectorate of the National Police (IGPN).
