A man shot and injured in Pointe-Claire

(Pointe-Claire) A man was taken to hospital after being hit by at least one firearm projectile early Friday night in Pointe-Claire, in the west island of Montreal .


The 52-year-old man will be saved, according to information provided by medical authorities to the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM).

It appears that around 1:15 a.m. a conflict broke out between a group of people at the intersection of Donegani and King avenues, in a residential and commercial area. After opening fire, the suspects reportedly fled on foot.

By late night, no arrests had been reported.

A security perimeter was erected at the location where the shooting occurred. Police investigators were to interview witnesses and check to see if there were any surveillance cameras in the area that could have picked up footage to help solve the case.

Forensic identification technicians and members of the canine squad had to comb through the crime scene.
