This event occurred a few hours after a 33-year-old man was shot and injured in the same area on Friday evening.

A call was made to 911 around 2:20 a.m. Saturday, regarding shots fired at the intersection of rue Monselet and avenue de Bruxelles.

“When the police arrive on the scene, they locate casings on the ground,” explains agent Caroline Chèvrefils, spokesperson for the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM).

Shortly after, the police were informed that a person with gunshot wounds presented to a hospital.

“According to initial information, everything suggests that the victim was shot and injured at the intersection of the call made to 911 for shots fired,” said Caroline Chèvrefils.

The victim will be met by SPVM investigators in the next few hours.

The scene of the crime is currently protected, and an investigation is underway to clarify the circumstances of this event.
