A 37-year-old man was sentenced Monday, October 23 to eight months in prison for a false bomb alert sent to the Palace of Versailles, requiring his evacuation last week, noted the franceinfo journalist present at the Versailles criminal court .
The court accepted the alteration of discernment of this individual. This man was also ordered to pay unquantified damages and an obligation to provide psychological care. The hearing on these civil interests will take place in February 2024. He was arrested on Friday October 20 for the only alert issued by telephone concerning the castle, the others having been posted on a government website, according to police sources.
On Sunday October 22, the Palace of Versailles was evacuated due to a bomb threat for the seventh time in nine days.
