A man suffered significant injuries after being stabbed Saturday afternoon in an apartment building located in the Saint-Henri district of Montreal.
The event occurred around 3 p.m. on Desnoyers Street, near Cazelais Street. “On site, the police provided assistance to a man in his twenties possibly injured by a sharp object in the upper body,” said a spokesperson for the Montreal City Police Service (SPVM), Jeanne Drouin.
The man was transported to a hospital and was conscious during transport. He suffered significant injuries, but no further details were available on his condition Saturday afternoon.
A security perimeter was erected on rue Desnoyers to allow investigators to analyze the scene. Witnesses were also met by the police.
According to initial information collected by the SPVM, “at least one suspect was seen and fled on foot before the arrival of emergency services.”
No arrests have yet been made in connection with this event. The investigation continues.
