A 40-year-old man was charged with “rape and sexual assault on vulnerable people” by the public prosecutor’s office of Sens (Yonne). This resident of the town of Paron is suspected of having raped three elderly women in two nursing homes in the department, reports France Bleu Auxerre on Monday March 14.

The defendant was identified through DNA analysis. “The facts entrusted to an investigating judge would have taken place in two separate establishments”indicates the public prosecutor of Sens, who specifies that the suspect is already known to the police for damage, theft and sexual exhibition.

Two of the women are 78 years old, another is 91 years old. A first victim could be identified following a complaint after facts denounced having taken place in September 2021. An investigation had been opened after this first complaint.

Investigators from the Auxerre judicial police subsequently identified two other women, for denounced facts dating from December 2021 and January 2022. According to the first elements, this man fraudulently entered nursing homes. He is currently in pre-trial detention.
