A 52-year-old man went to the Meaux police station, in Seine-et-Marne, on the night of Sunday 5 to Monday 6 December, around 1 a.m. Accompanied by his 23-year-old son, he said he killed his partner and threw her in the Marne, Franceinfo learned from a source close to the investigation on Monday, December 6.
The victim’s body has not yet been found. The judicial police of Meaux are seized of the investigation. The suspect is not known to the police for domestic violence.
On November 16, the collective “feminicides by spouse or ex-spouse” identified at least 101 conjugal feminicides in France since January 2021. According to the Interior Ministry, 146 women were killed by their spouse or ex-spouse in 2019, and 102 in 2020.
