The Montreal Police Service received a call at around 6:30 p.m. reporting the presence of an injured individual inside entrance hall C, located in the Place Dupuis shopping center, near Saint-Hubert Street.

The man was still unconscious when emergency services and police arrived; he was transported to hospital where his life is feared.

According to witnesses met by the SPVM, a man in his twenties caused the victim to trip, who then lost consciousness.

The suspect fled before the police arrived.

A crime scene was established on site and the SPVM is treating this case as a case of serious assault.

Investigators check surveillance cameras and meet with possible witnesses to shed light on this story and try to identify the suspect.
