A man found lifeless in Centre-Sud, the first murder of the year in Montreal

The Montreal City Police Service (SPVM) confirmed on Sunday the first murder of the year on its territory.

The victim is a man discovered lifeless in a vehicle the day before, in an alley in the Centre-Sud district.

The body of the man in his thirties was discovered after a 911 call, Saturday morning, around 7:50 a.m., in an alley located behind Logan Street, near Dufresne Street.

“The SPVM confirms that it is a homicide. The victim, a 30-year-old man, was hit by at least one firearm projectile in the upper body,” said agent Véronique Dubuc, spokesperson for the SPVM, on Sunday morning.

The investigation was entrusted to the major crimes section of the SPVM.

The crime scene was protected on Saturday to allow investigators to do their work.

When emergency services arrived, they found the man dead in a parked truck. No resuscitation maneuver could be attempted.
