A 62-year-old man was taken into custody on Saturday, December 18, in the morning, after the discovery of a body, around 5:30 am, in front of his home, in Mesnil-Roc’h, on the border between Ille- et-Vilaine and Côtes-d’Armor, France Bleu Armorique reported. He is suspected of having shot the victim with a hunting rifle during the burglary of his home.
The deceased man was shot in the heart. He is a 37-year-old man from the Saint-Malo sector, known to the courts for “multiple antecedents”, according to Christine Le Crôm, prosecutor of the Republic of Saint-Malo.
The 60-year-old in police custody has already been the victim of two recent burglaries. The first took place last summer, the second last week. A woman and two children were present in the house during the shooting. An investigation has been opened. An autopsy of the body has yet to be performed.
