A man fires shots outside the home of his ex-girlfriend in Saint-Martin du Vivier

A 38-year-old man was arrested this Tuesday morning around 4 a.m., in Saint-Martin du Vivier, north-east of Rouen. He has fired shots outside the home of his ex-girlfriend near Valley Road. A witness living nearby told us that he heard “four shots around 11 p.m.” and four others “five minutes later”. The alleged shooter, a 38-year-old man, was separated from his partner for several months and lived badly this break, according to information from France Bleu Normandie.

Shooting at the house and the car of his ex-girlfriend

He went this Tuesday evening to the home of his ex-companion in Saint-Martin du Vivier, and he repeatedly fired a gun at his house and his car. The woman was present in the house with another person.

Then the man retreated to his home, still in Saint-Martin du Vivier and he shot in the air. The gendarmes intervened, in particular the GIGN, the Intervention Group of the National Gendarmerie. The man explained that he wanted commit suicide after breaking uphe finally surrendered on his own.

He was arrested by the gendarmes around 4 a.m. and taken into custody. There were no injuries, but his ex-girlfriend is obviously very shocked. The man’s custody can last 48 hours, until Thursday morning.
