A 32-year-old man, already convicted of rape, was indicted this weekend for “attempted murder” and placed in pre-trial detention after dousing his partner with gasoline and threatening to burn her alive in Saint- Jory, in the northern outskirts of Toulouse (Haute-Garonne), learned on Monday February 12 France Bleu Occitanie and France Bleu Roussillon from the Toulouse public prosecutor’s office, confirming information from La Dépêche du Midi.

Wednesday February 7, in the evening, a man doused his partner with gasoline at their home in Saint-Jory, before threatening to burn her alive. “He was playing with his lighter”, explains the Toulouse public prosecutor’s office. His partner, also around thirty years old, had just announced her intention to leave him.

Arrested Friday February 9 in the morning in a Formula 1 hotel in Perpignan (Pyrénées-Orientales) by around fifteen gendarmes from the department as well as a team from the anti-criminal brigade, this man already convicted of rape was indicted for “attempted ‘assassination’, as well as for ‘theft’ and ‘fraud’ because he also stole his partner’s car and credit card. He was placed in pre-trial detention.
