A 39-year-old man died following a parachute accident on Saturday in Victoriaville.

The police were dispatched Saturday around noon near the Victoriaville airport to intervene with a man who had encountered difficulties landing by parachute.
According to initial information, “the landing did not go as planned” and the 39-year-old man hit a tree, said Catherine Bernard, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec.
He suffered serious injuries and was transferred to a hospital center where he was confirmed dead.
An investigation is underway. Agents from the Forensic Identification Service arrived at the scene to establish the causes of the event.
