A man aged 30 to 40 was hit by a train this Saturday, May 7 in the morning, around 11:30 a.m. The accident occurred in Tonnay-Charente (Charente-Maritime), about 200 meters from a level crossing. He died instantly. The identification of the body is in progress, an investigation is open to understand the circumstances of this accident.
The train had to brake urgently with a hundred people on board. This is a TER that connects Bordeaux to La Rochelle. Traffic was only slightly disturbed, a few trains canceled, a few others delayed. Everything returned to normal at 1:35 p.m. according to the railway company.
