A man died during an undeclared rave party in Parnay, a small village in Maine-et-Loire, on Sunday May 12, the Saumur public prosecutor reported in a press release. A judicial investigation has been opened to determine the causes of death, adds the prosecution.

The victim was taken care of after “cardiorespiratory arrest” in the morning, adds the press release, which specifies that “the identity [de la victime] could not be established”. The emergency intervention was very rapid, but the man nevertheless died on the spot, the sub-prefect of Saumur, Christophe Carol, told AFP.

The rave party, which ended Sunday morning, brought together some 10,000 people on agricultural landwho had started to flock in the night from Wednesday to Thursday, investing the places “illegally and without the owner’s consent”depending on the prefecture.
