On the ground, a man has just suffered a cardio-respiratory arrest on Wednesday January 3, after his very eventful arrest. That evening, the police were called by the manager of a grocery store in Montfermeil (Seine-Saint-Denis). A 30-year-old employee, who consumes alcohol and drugs on site, is aggressive and refuses to leave the store. Four police officers intervene.
18 police officers mobilized
“He is an individual that they know very well, with whom they are used to interacting, and with whom there has always been a good relationship”, explains Eric Couvrat, SGP Police unit 93. According to the police officer, dialogue being impossible, his mother was asked to reason with him, in vain. After 40 minutes of negotiations, the man tried to grab a police officer’s weapon, then hit and bit an official on the hand. 18 police officers are mobilized in total. Six of them use their tasers. After his death, the residents of the town were angry. The IGPN has been contacted.
