A 36-year-old man was indicted for intentional homicide of his ex-spouse and placed in pre-trial detention, said the public prosecutor of Toulouse on Friday May 6 in a press release. He confessed to having killed his ex-companion on Wednesday in Gratentour in Haute-Garonne.

On May 4, he called the gendarmes around 2:40 a.m. and told them that he had just killed his ex-spouse with a gun and that he wanted to surrender. The gendarmes arrested him in Lespinasse around 3:20 a.m. and went to the victim’s home. They discovered the body of this 31-year-old woman, as well as a rifle equipped with a noise reducer.

The medical examiner was able to examine the victim’s body. He was hit by several bullets, including the skull and thorax.

But “a first psychiatric examination carried out during police custody, explains the floor, seems to indicate that the responsibility of the respondent could be altered at the time of the facts (but not abolished) because of his mental state”. The man was drunk when he was arrested. He was unknown to the judiciary and the police.

The couple had two children, who were with their grandmother at the time of the events.
