A 54-year-old man was arrested in the Nadège Desnoix affair, twenty-seven years after the murder of the high school student. Placed in police custody, he allegedly confessed to the murder.
Twenty-seven years after the events, hope is reborn in the murder case of Nadège Desnoix. A suspect was arrested on Wednesday, December 1, he was taken into custody for the murder of the 17-year-old high school student, killed in 1994 in Coulonges-Cohan (Aisne). It was DNA that relaunched the investigation of this case, one of the oldest unresolved in France. Arrested in Rennes, the man, a 54-year-old Frenchman and twice convicted of rape, allegedly confessed to the murder.
At the material time, no link was established between the man and the murder. The young girl, left for dead at the edge of a path, is found by a walker. Investigators then consider the trail of serial killer Michel Fourniret, before abandoning it. It was only this summer that they reopened the case: the suspect was arrested for domestic violence, and his DNA matches the fingerprints found in 1994. “Justice will have done its job, it will have found what had to be found, if it is the real culprit”, hopes a neighbor.
