The man, who was unconscious when paramedics arrived, had wounds on his upper body. The woman had upper and lower body injuries.

The many citizens who came to the aid of the victims witnessed a real scene of horror. The two lay motionless on the ground, in a pool of blood, a few meters from each other.

Circumstances unknown

No suspect was identified or arrested immediately, said François Boucher, spokesperson for the Longueuil agglomeration police department.

This would be the second and third murder to occur on the territory of Longueuil since the beginning of the year.

The South Shore of Montreal seemed until now relatively spared from the gun violence that rages in the metropolis.
