A major gas outage in the historic center of Rennes

You live or work in the north of the historic center of Rennes and you have a gas problem: that’s normal! Since 3 p.m., this Saturday, October 29, 2022, the areas of Place des Lices, Place Sainte-Anne, rue Saint-Michel and rue Saint-Malo have not been powered. A technical failure on the GRDF network (Gaz network distribution France) caused a cut in gas distribution. Between 350 and 400 customers are concerned.

Recovery from this Sunday afternoon

From this Sunday morning, 8:30 a.m., GRDF agents will pass in homes and businesses that have run out of gas. A team of ten people is already operational. And reinforcements from Morbihan and Côtes-d’Armor are expected. If you are not at home at this time, you can call 0 800 47 33 or go to the GRDF website
to report the failure. The problem could be solved from this Sunday, in the afternoon or evening.

But for the moment, the exact origin of the failure has not not yet identified. It seems that there has been a malfunction in one or more gas stations, which are boxes that manage the pressure level of your gas. GRDF recognizes that there is rarely a gas cut of this magnitude.
