A Liberal government would lower taxes

The electoral contest begins. One day after the end of the legislature, the Quebec Liberal Party (PLQ) promised Quebecers to reduce taxes if it comes to power on October 3.

The proposal can be found in the party’s electoral platform, which will be presented to members on Saturday afternoon. It is intended as a direct response to the check promised to Quebecers by the government of François Legault.

“That’s what it takes to breathe life into Quebecers,” said PLQ parliamentary leader André Fortin on Saturday morning.

The Liberals have not yet quantified the impact of their measure on the finances of the Quebec state, but they assure that it will not lead to service cuts.

Further details will follow.
