A judo champion, protests in Iran and the return of the Little Mermaid to the cinema

Every week, the podcast “Salut l’info!” offers a playful and accessible decoding of the news, for children (7-11 years old). This program is designed and produced by the Franceinfo radio teams and the Astrapi magazine. Every week, alongside the podcast journalists, a child comments on the news and speaks in the Club Salut l’info!, a space for expression and discovery for children.

The news takes us this week to Iran, where demonstrations have been taking place for two weeks, after the death of the young woman Mahsa Amini. At the microphone, journalist Estelle explains what is happening in the country.

The cinema invites itself into the program of “Salut l’info!” this week. Disney studios recently unveiled the first images of the Little Mermaid film, whose heroine Ariel is black. A choice that provoked racist messages on social networks… but also videos of children and in particular of little girls moved to see in the image a little mermaid who looks like them.

The news is also sporting this week. On the occasion of the world judo championships which take place from October 6 to 13, “Salut l’info!” get on the tatami. Our journalist Pauline met a top athlete: Amandine Buchard. Training, career… At the microphone, she answers children’s questions.

On the show’s answering machine, children can share their little worries. In each episode thanks to our section “We tell each other everything”, the team of “Salut l’info!” responds to their letters from the heart, with the help of a psychologist. This week, Hédi confides in his problems with his brother, until it comes to blows. The floor is up to the children! On the answering machine, children can also tell their best jokes, to discover in this new episode. Good listening !
