After the death of a 3-month-old infant on Wednesday, the Evry public prosecutor’s office (Essonne) opened on Friday October 27, “a judicial investigation into the charge of murder of a minor under 15 years old”, Franceinfo learned from the prosecutor. He requested that it be awarded “a warrant for the mother” of the child, with a view to indictment.
The baby was hospitalized Wednesday evening at the Fontainebleau hospital center (Seine-et-Marne), after being shot in the chest. The child died despite the care provided. Her father showed up at the hospital with his daughter, explaining that he found her injured at home. His partner was found the same evening, shot and injured near an equestrian center, according to the public prosecutor.
Request for psychiatric follow-up
According to the Evry prosecutor, the custody of the baby’s father and one of his friends was lifted on Friday. The vital prognosis of the infant’s mother, aged 39, is no longer in jeopardy. Placed in police custody on charges of murder of a minor under 15 years old in a hospital environment, she was able to be heard on Thursday, during a very brief hearing where, in the presence of her lawyer, she made use of her right to silence.
“Given his state of health, a measure of psychiatric care was taken by decision of the State representative. specifies the prosecutor. “The investigating judge now seized will be responsible in particular for determining precisely the circumstances of the commission of these facts. adds the magistrate.
