A hotel evacuated near Nancy after a fire

A fire broke out on New Year’s Eve in the premises of the Hôtel de l’Ile in Custines, near Nancy. Around two in the morning, firefighters were called to a fire in the attic of the building. On the spot, two people were evacuated but their condition did not require transport to a care structure.

The fire was quickly brought under control by the firefighters who remained on site until the morning to have a better view of the disaster with the break of day. Eight people who were to sleep in this hotel that night were relocated.

The causes of the incident are not yet known.
