On the evening of Saturday May 4, Madonna thrilled hundreds of thousands of people on Copacabana beach during a monumental and free concert. The queen of pop concluded in style her world tour which crowned her 40-year career.
For one night, Copacabana beach (Brazil) was transformed into the largest dance floor in the world: an 800m² stage and 1.5 million people for Madonna’s 40th career, during a free concert. “I’m 60, it’s my birthday, Madonna is my whole life“, a fan is moved. “This show means a lot to our LGBT community. Madonna is the greatest diva and she was the first to denounce prejudice“, adds a man.
A grandiose spectacle
Earlier in the day, spectators gathered on the beach despite temperatures exceeding 36°C. For the occasion, Madonna dressed in the colors of Brazil. From the boats, in the beach chairs, on the goal cages, the fans didn’t miss a beat of the concert. The crowd was overwhelmed with happiness when she began her anthem to resilience, a year after a serious illness which had panicked her admirers.
